Stainless steel angles are the most basic type of roll-formed steel. To make them, a single angle in a piece of steel is bent. Stainless steel 304 angle is a manganese and chromium austenitic steel with low concentrations of copper, nitrogen, and nickel. The alloy’s chemistry is completely balanced, and it takes on an austenitic structure after annealing. Nickel content ranges from 4% to 8%, whereas manganese content is around 8% and chromium content is between 16 and 18%. Nitrogen also strengthens and increases the formability of the material. When Stainless Steel 304 angle is annealed, it loses its magnetic properties. Because of the non-magnetic nature of martensite structures, cold working procedures are utilized to convert them to magnetic. Because of the cold working procedure, these angles have good mechanical strength. Angles made of stainless steel 304 are heat-treated for 30 minutes in a bath of 1900 degrees F (1038 degrees C).
In mildly corrosive circumstances, these angles provide outstanding annealed strength and corrosion resistance. Angles in SS 202 come in a range of widths and thicknesses, from 20 mm to 100 mm wide and 5 mm to 25 mm thick. These angles come in a variety of lengths ranging from 1000 mm to 5000 mm. These angles are easier to weld and can be done with any standard welding process, such as resistance or fusion welding.
